I am out on a millwright job in the Chicago area and will be there for several more weeks but I will take at least
one day off the job for Mentone. Less than 113 miles and 2 weeks to go!!!! I am starting to get exited.

I am pleased that folks would like me to go, but I have no idea why. And no, Chris, it isn't a "PRA Boycott." You might recall that I went to Bensen Days during the instance it was hosted by the PRA. I'd go somewhere if the devil himself were hosting if it was somewhere I wanted to be. I am also proud to be a "Cheap A$$," but that's not the reason either.

I went to Mentone when the PRA was still "fiscally healthy" and long before I developed my current lack of favor for PRA operations. Frankly, I didn't enjoy it at all and it was then I put Menton on my "Must Miss" list. I could list all the things I didn't enjoy, but who really cares besides me? For me, the trip was a two-for-one. First time. Last time.

Those who enjoy it, great! Go! Have as much fun as you can. It may be the highlight of your year. Good! Enjoy it.

So far whenever I get together with pilots at these fly-in's it's the comradely, jokes, and flying stories = it's the lifelong friendships made that include flying fun!
