I am out on a millwright job in the Chicago area and will be there for several more weeks but I will take at least one day off the job for Mentone. Less than 113 miles and 2 weeks to go!!!! I am starting to get exited. Marc |

It sounds to me like the others might be telling you to go Jon  Why don't you like Mentone? Because of the ownership Kafuffle? Don't let it bother you Jon..... I would kill to have a great place to go to like BD and Mentone, where decent folk get together.... nothing like that over here to look forward to Go and enjoy yourself mate.... I mean, the only terrible people there are FJ and Greg  all the rest aren't too bad

I am pleased that folks would like me to go, but I have no idea why. And no, Chris, it isn't a "PRA Boycott." You might recall that I went to Bensen Days during the instance it was hosted by the PRA. I'd go somewhere if the devil himself were hosting if it was somewhere I wanted to be. I am also proud to be a "Cheap A$$," but that's not the reason either. I went to Mentone when the PRA was still "fiscally healthy" and long before I developed my current lack of favor for PRA operations. Frankly, I didn't enjoy it at all and it was then I put Menton on my "Must Miss" list. I could list all the things I didn't enjoy, but who really cares besides me? For me, the trip was a two-for-one. First time. Last time. Those who enjoy it, great! Go! Have as much fun as you can. It may be the highlight of your year. Good! Enjoy it. |

Ah..you're right Mike. I get "The Fonz" confused with "Vinnie Barbarino." Still...the premise is valid. NOTHING involved in a 70's SITCOM is worthy of use as an attack that can be taken seriously. Well, OK...maybe a couple of things from Sanford & Son when Red Foxx was trying to annoy the censors....but nothing else. |

Jon buddy your sense of humor will be missed as will your experience. So far whenever I get together with pilots at these fly-in's it's the comradely, jokes, and flying stories = it's the lifelong friendships made that include flying fun! For me they are all a PARTY and your invited! |
