We'll be rolling out the grill to celebrate our new on-site CFI this Saturday 11/22 at the Zephyrhills airport. Fly, drive or walk in and say congrats to Greg for this accomplishment.

Well apparently Darren lands the gyro thinking it's a unicycle.....he uses the nose wheel to land on.....it's a pretty damn good trick......makes people hold their breaths!

Wow, that is a good party trick :eek does he do it on purpose, or is the machine hung to nose down?

The only time I have ever had the nose last off and I guess first on, was when I test flew a machine for a guy who weighed about half my weight and so with my fat arse in the chair, it was way down at the front :laughing

I was surprised when the mains lifted off before the nose wheel :eek so it was a very short test flight..... If I were Darren, I would hang test it again, the next step from too nose down is running out of back stick (so can't flare) :eek :realcrazy

Next time you see him fly, get him to do a couple of passes at eye level to the guys on the ground and see how far back the head is tilting at straight and level(take pics)..... If it is way back, consider bolting or attaching firmly a couple of # weight on the tail and see if it improves.... but a rehang would be an excellent idea (ASAP) in my opinion :calmdown :pop

It's really not all that long in the tooth!!!

There might have been a few times when I was testing out the nose wheels capabilities during my early days learning to fly a Dominator...specifically Greg's Dominator....I was told I was the reason the front tire wears out so quickly. So I bring a spare when I go up with him. :bigballs

It's really more about me taking credit for a new landing procedure when there is no head wind and I have to make a quick touch down....I call it the nose down protocol!!!!!! :laughing :laughing :laughing :laughing

Unfortunately my technique is not so good anymore since I was trained out of doing it in the future.

But i do plan to get a logged lesson this weekend. Maybe?????

Just kidding Greg...in case your reading this!!! :laughing :laughing

Congrats Greg.

I apologize for not being able to show up as intended. :killme

Roberta's car broke down on her this morning and I had to do the repairs since she needs it for work to do her paper route
everyday and by the time I was finished and all grimy from years of road grime I discovered the job had taken all the wind out of my sails.

Not to mention the freakin rain dampened my spirits since I figured no flying would occur and I so wanted to get a logged hour with you. :badluck

Glad some of you still made it happen. Some days just don't go as planned......Damn Murphy!!!!

See u soon.
