:whoop :wol Well as some may Know, Cindi and I have been trying for a long time to sell her house and get moved to Florida.

well Hell must have froze over along with the rest of this area, As I am happy to say the House is under Contract, should close April 18th.

It almost seems unreal as we have been trying for so long to get this place sold and get moved.

we have a few places we plan to look at when we come down for Bensen Days. yep every place we are looking at is at least 6 acres with room to land the helicopters. so yeah a legal helistop will be in the works.
Even if my machine is not ready to fly any time soon, I think it will be too cool to have a pad for my friends that have helicopters to be able to drop in from time to time.
I have already made a bunch of Friends in Florida with helicopters, so I am betting we will get lots of Visitors.
So yep, I am excited.. Not to mention can now be more active with Sunstate rotor and wing club.. :)

Good deal Tim! Congratulations on the closing. I am sure you'll find a suitable area here in FL. This is the time to pick up properties dirt cheap before the market comes back. And it is coming back! People move into Florida in large numbers taking advantage of the cheap living and no state tax!

yeah we have our eye on a few nice places, if it all works out hope to get moved by june. if not sooner.

we are going to live in the Motor home for a month or so to save some extra money. Cindi has great Credit and we had gotten a pre approvale letter before, so once we find the place we want it should not be an issue. I so can't wait to get moved. My A&P need to get a move on on my 2 place projects engine.

Good luck with the sale Tim ... all this winter I wish I lived in Florida too.

I am not in hell (yet :) ) but things sure froze over here this winter.

-30 degrees for a couple of months

Weather is starting to warm up and all the snow will be melted soon

Then it is back to cutting grass and swatting mosquitoes for 6 months.

Post subject:  Re: Hell Froze over. update the house passed the inpection

well just an Update, yesterday we had the house inspection and it passed with flying colors.
the buyers have until march 28th to back out, but I really don't think they will as their Realtor even called the inspector while he was still here inspecting the house.

I so can't wait to get moved to Florida.

not sure how good I will feel when it is hurricane season, but I guess I will just have to learn to prepare for it.

Cindi Thinks we need to buy this just in case.

I'll tell you what...if you don't get that generator I would love to own it!!!

By the way ....the property next door to me just came on the market....

I live in the country just outside of Dade City Florida...If you want to see the listing it is 34703 Missionary Rd. Dade City Fla. Just google it. I have more pictures then the listing does.

I was going to buy it and turn it into a mini gyro port but I need a jump take off gyro to get out of there without always having to be full on balls to the wall for take off so I got another pc. of property just north of here with a 1000'+ run.

Definitely OK for Helo's. You can have animals (horses or cows etc.)

And can shoot guns all day long like my neighbors and I do. Just a heads up.

Everything is about within an hours ride of this area including Wauchula. Then there is
Zephyrhills airport 10 mins away also.

Plus I sure would like a like minded neighbor!!!

55K is the asking price but I know it could be negotiated for less.

Good luck and welcome to Florida Y-All!! :whoop

One can get a stick welder/generator... or a genset for a couple grand... new. And they are a lot easier to move around.

The engine on a generator does not get run much... unless it is used regularly... they need some attention (TLC) to be 'ready' when needed.

That does look like a good unit though... albeit hard to move around. How much $$$ do they want for it?

Be aware diesel is subject to algae if stored long. If you have a diesel car you can burn it and refreshing the supply isn't an issue.

lazy folks like me prefer natural gas or propane.

All you need is to add 3/4 ounce of biobor to 55 gallons of diesel. Ended my algae problem!

Did you notice a change in color, etc. of your filters when you changed them after using biobar?

Ray......yes.....they were blackish green with algae. If it weren't for my checking my gravity fuel flow occasionally....timing how long an unhooked fuel line fills a 5 gallon can, I would have eventually had fuel starvation in flight.

Its been 3 years now since I have been treating my kerosene with BioBor, and I haven't seen nothing but my very fine opaque screen remain crystal clear. I should have known about Biobor, but 15 years in my early years of farming saw thousands of gallons of diesel fuel burned in our tractors without any algae, and that had me unaware of algae potentially being a problem.

It wasn't until I bought a bad batch of kerosene from a local gas station, that I had that algae problem.

The refinement process has changed in the last few years to accommodate biofuels. You have to be careful because they took the sulfur out and they are using more of the crude to make diesel and it is less stable.
I've learned it is not actually an algae in the fuel itself but from contaminates that settles out as a sludge like crud.
