I saw a helicopter with a inline 4 at Camarillo a few years ago, A test piece that was registered in the US as their own CAA had no guidance or regulations on the subject... They were Korean & Japan companies |

It should mean that decent parts like water pump impellers should become available? What are the other weak parts that tend to fail? |

The history of aviation piston engine is really stupid ... just before the turbines arise the British had done the spitfire ... it was a descent engine, liquid cooled .. modern .. nothing to see with air cooled old engines .. When turbines arrived , the piston engine aircraft makers went back to to old air cooled engines with very few exceptions... the use of modern engines like Yamahas, hyper tough liquid cooled, made for skidoo working in terrible conditions just can be a fantastic thing for our activities .. I would have dreamt to install such an engine on my tandem .. it will be for the next one hahaha |
