. Years ago this guy from India or Pakistan was building a helicopter from junk and no way it would ever fly ... he had something like a 20 hp scooter engine and an angle drive from a washing machine or something Now he built one that can do short hops with air under the wheels ... gotta give him credit for perseverance. Some day he may even figure out weight and balance and cyclic. Still funny as hell but at least he gets some air under the wheels https://imgur.com/ZQlkYsO . |

It would be interesting to see when he finally gets it flyable what solutions he came up with with out the hindrance of being educated in the norms of design It might even be sellable as plans on the open market. "Sourced from hardware and furniture applications" has quite the draw to a lot of folks. I saw an interesting contra rotating homebuilt video the other day. This reminds me of the Dodge Tomahawk motorcycle. Two engineers were told to drop a viper engine onto a bike. Niether of them had ever ridden a motorcycle. What they came up with was at least very interesting. Also Gaston Glock, the Spatula King who decided to make a handgun. |
