I like it when you find out something that looks difficult is really not so... I like gel blasters and airsoft, and used to think that the main springs were made, then heated and quenched or somehow 'made springy'... then I saw some videos on the intertubes and they are simply cold wound and 'voila' a spring... Out of anything from guitar/piano strings, wire cable strands... welding wire or rods... whatever.... then, not even heat treated?? What a let down.... Of course, car and train bigger springs are wound then heated and quenched... I am talking about small springs for guns and stuff..... There is more vids on springs... look here... https://www.youtube.com/results?search_ ... gs+at+home |

I also really like watching EXPERTS make stuff on manual (or semi controlled) machines And not to mention odd stuff you would never believe actually works.... I would love to see Stan making his stairs.... that would be awesome Our world is pretty fucked up, but it is also quite fascinating... What cool machines do you have at Delta Scotty? Anyone else? |
