My math skills ain't the greatest but something doesn't add up:
"Uber has set a number of parameters for potential airframers to meet, including among others a cruise speed of 150 mph, a 60-mile range, and ability to fly three hours’ worth of 25-mile trips with capacity for a pilot and four passengers."
A 60 mile range at 150mph = 24 minutes flight time. What are they gonna do? Fly three 8 minute trips spaced over three hours? Still needs a heliport, etc...
Sounds like a good way to trick-fuck some gullible investors out of their money. Vaporware.

Speaking of Carter Copter ...... that is how I became interested in Gyro's back years ago ..... Carter published daily updates right from day one on their developments , very open and transparent , what worked and what didnt work , I found it very educational and read every single post they made through the years (that was a lot of reading) .... subsequently I migrated to RWF and then here.
(In my opinion) Carter did a great job but tried to reinvent everything ..... they could have saved a lot of time going to a lycoming or Continental engine from the start but instead used a Buick V-6 racing engine , then I believe a Cadillac based high performance V-8 etc , a lot of time (and failures) spent on non-gyro stuff. They also developed their own fully adjustable propeller .... zero pitch for spin-up ..... max efficiency during flight etc ..... I believe the cockpit was designed to be pressurised at high altitude , designed and built their own landing gear .... not to mention the leading edge use of carbon fiber construction which was quite new at the time.
Anyway , I retain tremendous respect for the Carter group , they had brilliant cutting edge ideas and some very good engineering and testing that they were willing to share with the public.
