I had been telling customers (based on my own findings) for years," If you care about your gun don't use crap steel cased ammo". These guys prove it. However IF you don't care about your guns OR are a cheapo shooter who will never fire 5000 rounds maybe you'll be happy. I have seen a LOT of problems caused by the lacquer and the bullet material...its orange, but it aint copper!!!! (I think it comes from the containment vessel inside the walls of Chernobyl reactor # 2b) Anyway, its well written and interesting. http://www.luckygunner.com/labs/brass-v ... o/#erosion

Don't misconstrue what the info is saying. if your not shooting a high end tight chambered platform it may not be worth the extra money. Just replace parts early. as for the reliability welll....its nice to finally see an american made product come out on top.

We shot nothing but steel case ammo.....very high end shooting so to speak....the guns were happy and the shooters were happy the best I can tell. Guns are not exactly there to baby them in my humble opinion. The military usage in the 80s 90s of the steel case ammo had proven their reliability and yes the casing doesn't swell up ever. It is hard to convince someone who only used steel case ammo that it is anything less than the brass ones. But again. I am not sophisticated nor educated enough to argue that point. I was only a user...and still am! My S&W 645 loves the steel casing. Funny it never jams any of them. It had jammed on Federal though! As I said I have no feelings for guns, cars, gyros......just a piece of metal nothing more

Sure and why not? The cost savings VS the performance degradation isn't that big of a detriment.
But if your spending upwards of 2000 dollars on a high end AR type that shoots sub-moa out of the box, why ruin the lands, grooves and throat for the sake of a little bit of money?
One thing I didn't see mentioned is the fact that if your shooting steel cases the bump deflector get nicks from the steel...I can tell if you were shooting cheap shit immediately. A piece of 100mph tape goes a long way.
Having said all that, I ONLY shoot steel in my AK platforms, thats what they were designed to shoot, period.

Yes my AK47 and AMD65 were my main usage in the first place Didn't have to worry about extractor breakage LOL On that note I have seen countless 1911s break theirs on steel casings. Not to talk shit about them but S&W has a pretty freaking tough extractor so to speak. Although I have had a barrel crack once....that was ugly....

Tim that is a shernic gun works. http://sgworks.com/ Probably not the best for a lefty, you'd need something that ejects downwards.
