Yep, it's bearing down on me! A friend went to Farjardo this afternoon, I gave him a pint of rum and half a dozen cigars to take up to El Yunque on the way. I hope it holds some sway. I need a break from all this! Has anyone heard from JAKE? I saw an article that sez Everglades City was smashed and flooded pretty bad. Ol' Jake, clever lad that he is, will work around it somehow and help a lot of other folks too! |

I guess we've had several scares and close calls during that time but it just doesn't seem that long. I'm very worried about this one, a bad feeling in my guts. I have my two little kitties squared away. They have grown noticeably since Irma. They are much more active now. The gov say they are shutting down everything at 7 pm so I will probably be losing internet about that time although I have my generator? We are getting some wind and rain bands now but nothing serious YET! I'll try to keep you posted as things develop ... Do you understand "nervous chatter"? |

Yes, Pete, I can understand it very much so. I have a bad feeling about this too. I just don't like how fast it had become a cat 5 so it's sucking up all the warm water. Coming from deeper South then Irma did. Let's hope it decides to ride the Coriolis and goes up fast. Speed is everything with this one. Fingers crossed Pete!!!!! |

I fixed many generators so folks could have power. |

Fox is showing San Juan right now. I have stayed at that hotel a few years back. Ritz is built well. Seems as if the eye is now making landfall. Good luck Pete. |

The last I read was no electricity for most people for perhaps at least a month in PR. Pete's generator will get a workout....hope he stays okay and has enough fuel for his needs. Glad Maria missed you southerners. Been a good day.....glad Jake made it thru!! |

I'm not liking the way the forecast rack is drifting west... I'm glad I still have my supply of stabilized gas for the generator. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/archive/2017/NATE_graphics.php?product=5day_cone_with_line_and_wind |
