Got my 5th hour of training in yesterday, at Cartersville, (KVPC) it was foggy , had to wait a couple of hours until the ceiling was high enough, nice and smooth above the clouds, won't be long now before I start cruising in my own plank winged aircraft.
It was a long day, up at 02:40 out the door at 03:00, at work 04:00, left work at 06:30, at airport, 07:45, then waited for fog to lift, got my training in, had lunch with the Cedartown gyro gang, then did an annual inspection on a gyro, then drove 2.5 hrs back home, got home at 18:00, (6:00pm for you 12 hr types) whew.... at least the ac in the car works well.

Thanks! I think it is going to be a whole lot of fun, I might be able to race a Piper cub but not much else, but I will be happy to be able to take Mama out on some cross countries.

Rex, Kurt and I flew over to Cartersville to watch (snoop) on Scott's progress during his previous lesson. He is doing very well.

Our club has a few fixed-wing holdouts that like hanging around with the gyro folks (because they realize secretly that gyros are MUCH cooler than fixed-wings). They have their own "Peach State Rotorcraft Fixed-Wing Resistance" T-shirt. We may have to get one for Scott if things continue.

Way to go Scott. That would be a blast taking a spouse for a nice flight in that. How cool that is. Barbara went up with me once and simply it was terrifying for her......of course I should consider the pilot she had!

I have managed to take up the Queen twice....
The second time around she got sick and threw up and it ended up evenly distributed inside of the helicopter.
Covering the windscreen too.
IFR conditions were prevalent immediately .... the cleanup was never truly finished for the next two months.

I have gotten Mama rides in various aircraft, Steve M's Black a few times, Greg S's Dom tandem, a Challenger, Ron Awads RV-4, R-44 helicopter, Huey heli, and a Cessna 172,
She said the Cessna was boring...
I still want to finish my 2 seat gyro, but I feel it is unfair for me to enjoy flying without her if she enjoys it, so the little airplane is the best way to start taking Her with me, also the most economical right now.Plus the weather and wind protection will make it more enjoyable for her.
The biggest problem will be luggage space... :laughing

Here is a good video of the same type of aircraft, only mine has the HKS 4 stroke instead of the rotax..

Just doing maintenance now, No flight training for the last couple weeks, She was on vacation, and then the weather has been crappy here for the last 2 weeks.
I pulled the carbs and fuel pump off, found some chafed wires, not too bad, but needs fixing, new gaskets for the carbs, Aviation BING 64 32mm carb kits, $155.00 From the BMW site...$28.00

I am going to replace the fuel lines, filter etc, and I am going to change the tires and tubes.
I got the windsheild buffed out where it was hazy from some over spray and an oil leak...The drain plug on the oil tanks seeps, needs a new copper gasket, also the plane was in a huge hangar, about 12 airplanes, a couple of hangar queens that had been undergoing work, so that is probably where the overspray came from.
