Good news. Soon all the chapters will own, to share, two Web-Cams to stream our Fly-ins to the world from PRA's web-site.
All chapters Fly-ins will need HIGH SPEED INTERNET access if we wish this not to be a jerky display!
PRA will pay for this too, if you do not have it at your fly-in.
But I do not know your area and which hard wired services you have!!!
I need our chapter brothers and sisters help in discovering the fastest internet service we can get on the field.
We hope PRA does not have to buy a contract for a year service at every city but for only a month.
Jake is going to try begging (my word not Jake's) explaining that were are a 501 3 (c) CHARITY and only need the service for 1 month EVERY YEAR at our chapter Fly-in's.
Or ask if they would set up PRA so we could move the service contract to each airport our chapters are in an it would be worth a year from the same provider. If they say maybe we need the address I'll get them to you just email me it's my name upper or lowercase no spaces or dots and @msn.com.
Also if there are any neighbors on a hill overlooking the Fly-in we could borrow the service from a house and buy micro wave transmitter and receiver and get it this way. I do have experience using a neighbors Cox cable service and micro waving it down to a valley with a family and four homes there.
So keep that as an option too.
The Equipment:
One high quality Pan/ Tilt/ Zoom for streaming the approach or as you wish.
The other less quality cam maybe the landing zone close ups on the runway and for your banquets dinners.
We are leaning towards the Sony SNC-RZ25N in the photo for the quality web-cam.
