That is great.... until someone runs up the back of it and destroys it.... or a semi going the other way blows it over or off the road. Or, you are parked having a cappacino and someone is trying to steal your prop....

Every bump ends up in the bearing of the head..... I am not so sure it's a good idea driving it on those old fashioned basalt stone roads..... SMH

One day he'll forget the placard on the prop and either chop off a blade, cut off the tail and wreck the prop. Flying machines are meant to fly. I'd cut down the retirement life of the blades. they're designed to be flexed with a load on them, not static going over cobble stone roads. |

You guys are missing the important thing... This guy managed to somehow overcome massive bureaucracy to get this road-legal, and at the same time raising the profile of gyros as a neat personal air transport. As a foreigner who lives in that country (Czech Republic) and is still trying to get into the air, I only see it as positive. (Fixed wing private pilots in this country are often negative pompous stuck up rotor nay-sayers. I sat in a class recently where the CFI started making absurd claims about 'dangerous gyros', telling stupid fake stories as facts to make his class laugh at those pitiful deathtraps. It was just complete bollocks really but I couldn't punch him in the face, that wouldn't have gone down too well for me.)

Of course you could....it's well worth to punch an idiot in the face....ok maybe you make better decisions then I do  Still the fact remains that the bearing in the head gets hammered and it was NOT designed to take that kind of abuse. I would be very hesitant to fly a machine that is exposed to that kind of use. By the way....I am from the Southern neighborhood ...... Hungary. I know exactly how things are there

Maybe he needs to change the maintenance schedule wording from hours to kilometres  It looks like I am in line to finally start my training in English later this month. It will be fixed-wing unfortunately, and also PPL, not Ultra-light which is not regulated by the FAA but some other private company :-( At least I might get in the air. |
