FJ was a big person on the outside ...and a much larger person inside. Some people that you have met just effect you at a high level with their integrity. Jim was one of those that impressed me so. So so sorry ..not for Jim.., but for the family he leaves behind. Thoughts and prayers to especially Chris....and all his family and friends. |

Instead of PRA asking for a flower donation that is only temporary we ask you to help PRA make a permanent memorial in the form of a flat headstone that would be placed permanently on Jim & Chris's campsite at the PRA airport. They have this campsite every year since we have known them. Please help us remember Jim permanently in this way. Even a small donation will help and your name will be permanently displayed on the Jim Toves memorial web-page. Flowers will be placed on their campsite this year instead of the headstone. You can make a donation here: http://www.pra.org/donation.aspx?i=48 Just click other for the type of donation and write in JIM Also their scheduled presentation will be a celebration of Jim's Life instead of the TAG presentation. |

I let Waddles (Allan Wardill) from ASRA about losing Jim.... he was very saddened to hear... when I took FJ to our Hangar, he met Waddles. He sends his condolences, and ASRA's condolences on our loss of the head ficker I asked him to put it on the ASRA forum, because I don't go there any more... which he has kindly done. Also, Rick (an ASRA member) has put a thread on the forum. Unfortunately, few people go to the ASRA forum.... but hopefully some who knew or knew of FJ will be informed... Here are the links to the ASRA forum threads.... and a pic of FJ and Waddles from when he was here Allan is the Operations Officer for ASRA and flies a RafTor (Modified RAF 2.5 Subaru) and is a retired 747 captain.... and an all round nice guy http://www.asra.org.au/news/forums/topi ... ent-in-us/ http://www.asra.org.au/news/forums/topi ... armer-jim/ |

friday noon update... the coroner's office called a short time ago to get information for positive identification - dental, Dr's records/ Xrays ... she was willing to share the findings ... and apart from all the blunt-force trauma from the horrific impact ... they found a deep brain bleed ... although they just report findings .. not the sequence and speculation of event order ... I now KNOW ... what I was coming to believe in my heart .. Jim was hit midflight with a devastating pain & or lack of consciousness ... = hands off controls & he was dying /unconscious for the rest! It was simply his day - time to go to his heavenly home & it would have happened where-ever he was / whatever he was doing @ that moment! Peace to all ..... rejoice ... all is well with my ( & Jim's ) soul! He went out doing what he LOVED - and strived for - determinedly for so long! Tomorrow is promised to none ... Hug your loved ones extra hard ... say "I love-you" often ... we did a pretty good job of all that & appreciating each other & our blessings especially in the last year with our TAG gyro/ TAGNA journey! |

A real soulmate always knows the truth, and you knew it had to be that way. With all the pain it is somewhat a relief to know that it had happened the way you thought it did. Nothing can tame the pain of the loss of such a beloved man.... There's always going to be a void.....pretty big one too.....that won't be ever filled. I am thankful for the time I was allowed to spend around him and you honey. HUGS. |

The rising tide of LOVE! FJ would be humbled that he affected so many, SO POSITIVELY ... even the strangers who LURK on our forum playgrounds ... & feel like we are family! I got this moving, touching PM today! Quote: Chris… I have never met you and I never met FJ. But, from reading about your gyro adventures and posts on the Rotary Forum I feel as if I do know you. Just as I feel as if I know so many people from the forum. We are all one big family. Granted, our big family may be dysfunctional more often than not. But the one strand that binds us is our love of gyros. Although I never met him, when I received word of FJ I felt the blow just the same as if it were someone in the local club. I was speechless. My immediate thoughts went to you, and how this was such a difficult thing for you. I cannot even imagine enduring what you have been forced to endure. In reading the posts since, about others’ remembrances of FJ, I feel as if I know him better. He seems like the kind of guy I would have enjoyed sharing honeybuns with and talking gyros. In your posts since your loss, you have maintained perspective, shown tolerance and grace (when I know it was difficult to do so), and a touch of a sense of humor now and then. It just goes to show your strength of character. I feel as if I am rambling here. But the main thing I wanted through this note was to let you know there are many nameless and faceless folks in the gyro family who feel as I do….compassion and sympathy for your loss of FJ. You are in many peoples’ thoughts and prayers. ...WOW ....just WOW |
