The corn and soybeans are really growing crazy. Timely rains, especially the latest 2.8 inches yesterday right when the ears are busting out. The corn along the edge of the field here is just over 10 feet tall...back in the field its all 10-12 feet tall. Never wanted an engine out in that stuff!

You must be reading my mind .... haaaaa ... today I made a trip to the farm and corn here is about 6 feet tall and I was going to take a picture and post it here , but my camera was full so I will do it tomorrow.

We have had near perfect weather , gentle rain every other day , hot sun in between , Strawberry farmers are having the best year ever , berries are 1 1/2 inches across , dark red and super sweet , pickers can fill a basket by only going 4 feet down the row .

Not as tall as your corn Stan , this is the field behind the airport where I live , corn is 6-7 feet tall , has a bit of wind damage from a small tornado 2 days ago , my power & internet was just restored today.

Notice the orange marker on the hydro line .... next post I have a picture of the same spot in the winter. hehe.

Picture of the same field in winter. What a difference EH !!!!

You can see those same orange markers on the power lines like the corn picture

I should get out and take some more pictures .... this area is full of vegetable farms and grain farms , and strawberry farms .... in other words we are not always cold and frozen.

Nice divergent pictures of your area Arnie.

The.soybeans are growing like Jack and the Beanstalk fable.

I will wade out into the soybean field behind my house and show high high they are on my chest.

Hovering in ground effect in 0 wind....which only a helicopter can, over tall soybeans in my helicopter clearly demonstrated more collective was needed. You could see a giant bowl impression in the vegetation. The positive effect from ground effect is more than cancelled out by the tall vegetation slowing the outflow of air just being pumped through the rotor disc....then more of it being caught and recirculated into the tip vortices.

First tornado I have ever been in . Happened wednesday evening at 7:00 pm , lots of trees blown over , took out the powerlines and internet for two days , not much building damage , trees fell without hitting any houses or cars and nobody was hurt

Same as an Indian reserve 20 miles away , 47 structures damaged , but nobody was hurt .... a hutterite colony said a mobile home simply dissapeared and they cant find it , but nobody was living in it .

Right near where I live about 15 big cottonwood trees blew over in back yards and streets but none hit any buildings.

A tornado is rare up here and I am glad ,
