Too bad the microphone and the speakers can't capture the bowel shaking earthquake visceral experience,
F-16 full afterburn engine run!
but still really cool...You know this was the highlight of the week for the maintenance crews.
"Murica!

Sometimes I miss the Air Force.....don't miss the paycheck...but it was good times.

Sure did dry the water off the runway.

When Stan sees it he will want to cook a few million hotdogs

At least it would get his mind off squirrels for a while.

Man the military has the coolest rides on the land, sea, and air!
The P51 is still hard to beat compared to our modern civilian fleet.

Agreed about the P51 .... and I also think the Vought F4U Corsair is one of the coolest WW2 planes

They called it "Whistling Death"

We called the test area "High Power" in the Navy, and it was used to test the engines after the plane had come out of repair or had the engines replaced. I have been in the back seat of an RA5C (with two J79 engines) chained to the ground at High Power during an afterburner test and I can tell you that thing is violently lurching around trying to rip those chains out of the ground!
Aboard ship there was a similar test where the plane was tied to the catapult and run up to "Max Military" (just before the AB cuts in). We watched an A4 shred itself apart after the engine had been repaired.
Quite spactacular, parts were flying everywhere. Fortunately no one was injured and there was no fire.

There was a Blue Angel air show in Augusta years back and one of the planes on display was a B1-B.
The thing looked lethal just sitting on the ground.
A group of us got wind of the takeoff time the day after the show (Monday)
We lined up along the fence and watched it take off. By far the loudest plane I've ever heard. It took off in afterburner..
My chest was vibrating.
It took off in a straight line due south until it disappeared. My guess is it went to Savannah. Where are they based in Ga. or South Carolina?

In Canberra in the mid 90's, there was a bunch of Nanchang CJ-6's someone bought from China.... there was at least half a dozen of them. It was so KuuuuuL when they would fly around in formation... the sound was unbelievable :eek :like :koolaid :lick

They dont have to ... Muz and his followers do all the whistling ... and most of his followers are pilots ... and pilots like flaps

The Navy guys are afraid of camel toes because they were told that loose lips sink ships.

Yes, she has several points that are outstanding :plike :koolaid :lick

Evidently those flaps are referred to as 'split flaps' :noidea

and yes.... they do whistle.... or actually squeal... but usually only in a high speed dive :lick (or if the joystick accidently comes out and ends up going into the black box) :laughing :rofl :yoda2 :Wolvie
