Yeah, everything is OK as long as the pollution is in someone else's neighborhood.

Anyone can twist the figures to promote their agenda.... Try this for size.

How about the cars motors are already made castings and armatures so they exist already anyway, because they are made to say... power fork lifts in side buildings,,, so the motor wasn't built specifically for the electric car.... most of the mechanical components are already made for gas models, so, they weren't created especially for the electric ones.... same as wheels, tires, and everything else.

Lithium and cobolt and other things used in batteries will be made into batteries anyway, regardless for car or submarine, golf cart, phone batteries etc.... so they will be made whether for an electric car or not. so, to me, that is pure bullshit by those trying to bolster to petrol industries who are seeing a swing towards alternatives...

Whatever anyone says about how 'polluting' electric care 'really' are, should visit asia where you cant see 200 yards because of the smog from gas cars and scooters.... if every car and scooter were electric, you would be able to see to the horizon.

If the wind generators and other than coal electricity generation is used to charge electric vehicles... apart from the bullshit pollution they 'produced' while being produced, and the fact that a percentage of the electricity that charges them comes from coal which pollutes, the electric vehicles are still a big plus for the environment, no matter what any fuckwit green tree hugger tries to tell me.

Besides all of that.... we humans have had the use of nuclear technology for coming up 70 years..... there hasn't been a serious nuclear problem since chernoble .... other than the fucking stupid idea of building a nuclear power plant AT SEA LEVEL :eek and placing the generator, the emergency generator, the emergency emergency generator and the cooling pumps FOR THE REACTOR in pits below sea level :eek :eek on an ISLAND...... that has a VOLCANO and is known to/susceptible to Tsunami..... well, I guess stupidity played alot into that one.... but was a good teaching aid.... don't build a nuke power station where a Tsunami might strike.... build the station up the hill a bit.... don't put the pumps/generators in holes below sea level.... and so on....

Nuclear generation of electricity should be 99% safe in this day and age.... if the electricity wasn't coming from SOME coal powered generating facility, then 95% of the shit that pretty boy was raving about in the video is void.... I would most definitely have an electric car if I could afford one.... and I wouldn't be feeling bad about some phoney polluting it is supposedly doing/have done...

That bloke in the video should be ashamed of himself... obviously either paid by the petroleum companies to try and put the kybosh on electric cars with dumb facts that are twisted beyond reality.... or he is so brainwashed that he sees pollution in trees growing....

For now, we are passed peak oil and that was with very little help from India and China.... now past peak and China and India are getting billions of cars... the 100 years to get to peak oil will only take 30 years to use up the rest, until we get to 'critical:not much left' and we are FORCED to use other ways of running things like cars and making electricity....

Yeah, hydrogen everyone says.... fine... lets all drive around breaking water into atoms... great idea, will stop the sea level rising.... until we destroy earths supply of water as well :badluck

Human beings simply need to stop fucking the planet.... pretty simple really :noidea :laughing :wol2 :Wolvie

Sure, point, counterpoint.
we can already have small portable nuclear power plants, it has been done.
The greenies hate oil and nuclear, they want to live in caves. But they want their high speed internet and
I-phones too.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McMurdo_Station
and
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LP7a0zYe5kE

The whole problem is MONEY, and who controls it....Tesla proved that electricity could be provided by wireless, but, Westinghouse had already set up the electrical grid, was making wire, putting up poles.....more money in charging people to maintain, and buy electricity...

Same with Medical, much more money in treatment than cures.

The point of the video was that all the greenies that think their plug in car will save the planet are the same greenies that protest oil tanker from their plastic kayaks...

What will save the planet, about the only thing that will, is for this trend of mass consumption to end.... consumer driven marketplaces will be the end of the earth...

the only thing that should go to land fill is something that was built well, but finally broke down and cant be made into anything else....

We don't need 'better/faster/stronger/easier' we need 'Adequate/good enough/repairable/rebuildable' instead.... tell the others what you did to fix your N/Bullet.... that is awesome, it can be done.... more people should do it....

At least everything on an electric car can be recycled.... like the batteries..... you cant recycle the gas from a petrol car.... it is burned and gone..... that alone makes the electric car better environmentally in my book... :like :wol2 :Wolvie

The light bulb conspiracy...Sure every year they come out with more and more cheap crap that is disposable...keeps you "comsuming"
They sure don't build em like they used to.....nope, but they sure do sell a whole lot more than they used to.

The instant the public stops buying and buying and buying.... the bubble will burst :badluck

With all of the stocks and bonds and whatever.... there is no money really.... no cash.... cash is simply promisary notes...

If the consumer stops consuming.... manufacturers will shut their doors and default loans.... banks with their hands out will not get paid...

the economy will plunge and a loaf of bread will cost $165 and a quart of milk will be $92.... if any farms can afford to keep operating.....

That is why now, the designed obsolescence is not hidden any more.... it is common knowledge...

Something interesting I have found out, is hoe to do a 'hard reset' on a computerised car from about 1990 to today.... it sets the computer in the car back to default. It has worked on all of my subarus and will also do it on my Suzuki.... according to forums I looked at, it has worked for Jag/Mercedes/BMW/Ford.... and should be done EVERY time the battery is disconnected, or the car develops 'glitches' .... it gets throttle position sensors/02 sensors/all the computer shit back in balance and also sets the steering parameters and brake parameters on really new electric steer cars.....

the important thing is not to touch the throttle once the battery is reconnected.... the car will learn what it has to from stone cold til the fans come on... I would say, the computer learns until the big draw of the fan occurs... so if you turned on the headlights just after starting it, that is when it will stop learning.

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthr ... ?t=2209950

Amazing .... I have learned how to ask my transmissions what is wrong, clear codes... reset computers.... and the sequences are fairly common evidently :like :laughing

Good old internet :laughing :wol2 :Wolvie

Cool I will have to try that on the Merz, it has a slow battery drain that it did not used to have.
My Hondas don't have computers, ironic as it may seem, a Japanese car without a computer... LOL.

That 'Uncle Scotty' seems very clever.... and alot like Birdy.... calls a dickhead a dickhead..... but very clever dude...

I am grateful to have learned that, let us know if it works on the Merc....

It cant hurt? Just means you have to remember the radio code and set the stations and stuff :badluck :realcrazy :killme :pop :yoda2 :wol2 :Wolvie

No its not gone. For each gallon of gas or any other hydrocarbon that goes through an internal combustion engine a gallon of water is expelled through the exhaust. The dinosaurs and foliage needed that water to make us oil. The cycle will continue when a meteor take us all out so our bodies can make the future's energy needs.

Yeah and you can't put a turbo on an electric car...or cool sounding dual exhaust....

I would love to be able to go back and forth to work and not have to buy gas....but the only E car that will have the range to get there and back is a tesla...Can't afford that....
Or I could move into the city....nah.....I will just keep my 30 year old jap car.....

The electric car history is very interesting to say the least...
I think that Jay Leno has one in his collection from around the turn of the last century...

Here is a clip of his baker electric car, starts around 9:30 into the video.

But electric cars are as fast, if not faster than most turbo cars (other than dedicated drag cars) and you could have the soundtrack of any engine in the stereo.... you could rig it to the gas.... I mean loud.... I mean 'go' peddle :noidea :laughing

You could even get the sound of a pop off valve so every now and then it goes "Psssst... psssstt FFFF.... tue tue tue" or however you write the sound the turbo cars make when the guys with their hats on backwards hot them up....

Actually, I know there is a plumber around here that has a soccer mom van to carry his 'workshop' in and he has a turbo and POV and it makes that silly sound.... it is so funny... he is about my age and wears his hat right way around too.... so don't know why he wants that noise? :noidea :rofl :yoda2 :wol2 :Wolvie

Once battery technology catches up to what the motors can do :eek .... phucking hold on tight! (for longer) :like :koolaid :lick :bigballs :wol2 :Wolvie

Battery technology is the hold up... a motor that can make 4 passes at, say 400hp , could prolly do one 1/4 mile run at 2000hp and flatten the batteries.... it all depends how fast the batteries can discharge and survive.... in reality.... what a bout a big mofo capacitor that just spins the motor for a few seconds for a drag pass? at what Hp? :like :pop
