. Looks real to me .... I have seen some Northern Lights that defy description . Hard to take pictures of them because it is nighttime and you need cameras all set just right. . |

I've never seen the northern lights. Do they move as fast as some of the movies I see? Like someone waving a flashlight in the sky? |

Yes .... they come in all shapes and sizes and often dance all over the sky . And they can be every color imaginable. Best one I have ever seen was like a horizon-to-horizon curtain .... a sheet of luminescent green with pleats and folds just like a stage curtain , then the middle opened up and parted just like a curtain would open on a stage ... and behind the curtain was another spectacular light show. The whole thing lasted for about 15 seconds and then a completely different light show would begin. Mostly they are seen on cold clear winter nights while driving , but try to stop the car and take a picture it will have disappeared . I think you would need a high shutter speed set for low lighting (night) to take a good picture. The picture of the Wolf is actually quite good , in real life it would be a hundred times more clear and crisp with vibrant colors .... hard to put into words |

. Hard to find good video of The Northern Lights but here is one from Iceland ..... gives you an idea how they move around and change shapes and colors. To see them in person is 100 times better. Sorta like taking a picture of a beautiful sunset ... the photo is never as good as actually being there. http://www.theguardian.com/travel/video ... land-video . |

Here is a curtain of iridescent green from the 'southern lights' .... one of my favorites Evidently, if you are in that position... you can almost see Uranus? |
