This is a duplicate post from what I did on RwF. When unforseen things happen make sure the emergency procedures kick in. Practice them often. Review them on the ground and in flight. This also works in Life. Below is a description of a flight I made a few days ago with 79 people on board. Not one soal had any idea we had any issue going on. This week while flying to Charlotte NC we had multiple failures in flight. 1 both engine computers failed 2 Autopilot failed 3 windshear warning failed 4 GPS failed 5 flight director failed 6 FMS failed 7 Flaps only 1/2 speed 8 Ground warning failed We still had power and control but all assistance was basically ofline. These issues progressed over about a ten min period of time. Not one came as a typical caution or Warning. They were what we call white messages. However they still created a condition of extreme focus. We were in IFR meaning in the clouds and could not see anything. It was raining and slight ice had been encountered on the way. I was the assisting pilot and the Captain had to fly by hand while I assisted with radio and direction. For 20 min we did this until we were able with radar vectors align with the ILS on backup radio then break through the clouds and land with the runway 300 feet below us. Like the saying goes "Aviate Navigate Communicate!" Some times in life we feel like we are overwhelmed. IF we could only see the end from the beginning. If we persevere and keep going even when it seems not possible then we can finally see the light just like The Captain and I could finally see the runway. We cannot give up even when things seem not possible. When we finally got word of the problem it was all caused by one bad TAT probe. |

For some reason I seem to be one who does not react like others might. I sit back say an hour or two later and then the full inpact hits me. Sort of the after effect of wow that really was a big deal. God may have just gave me another shot. Sort of reflection time. |

Yeah, I think they would have needed a couple of tire irons to get the seat cover out of my butt That would have been pretty scary.... well done for handling it so well.... Not bad for an gyro pilot with Edit: You should have rung cammie? She would have told you to just turn off all the engines and climb to safety? |
