.

Update from the pilot .... he did text his mom but it was before he took off

.... as to cause of the crash ... (quote) I am not really sure the cause as of yet, but the consensus so far is the elastomeric bearings. I was at the end of a 15 minute flight and just lined up for my approach. When I started to descend there was a slight push on the cyclic from right to left. The force became stronger by the second and now I was fighting to keep the helicopter straight while descending. The last thing I can remember is the cyclic popping out of my hand. Witnesses said I was approximately 20-30' agl when the helicopter turned hard left.

He said he was knocked unconscious but no broken bones or serious injuries

What's up with the rotorways? Every time I see one it is on it's side?
Seriously, they look good but they seem to crash a lot.

Mostly engine trouble..... They don't fly much unless you put a freaking turbine in them.
Now that's a nice setup!!!!

man that really sucks. looked like a nice machine.

the Rotorways have always looked nice, but man they have a lot of issues.

when I was building my Scorpion I was on the Rotorway owners Forum alot, and honestly I was suprised at all the issues they had.
