The Germans did better... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Focke-Wulf_Fw_61 Indoor flight by a female pilot in 1938. And Sikorski had a heli in 1940 (prototype was earlier). So the magazine was a bit behind current technonogy. But it's not uncommon for magazines or even SF novels to feature future tech, that's really current, just not widely known. It looks like a magazine worth reading. Oh, nostalgia isn't what it once was.... Cheers Erik |
