Nice landing. Looks like he was returning to the runway. And good no one was seriously hurt. But that can't be a WW2 vintage plane. It looks like a Ryan-like homebuilt. Cheers Erik OOPS Sorry. It seems to be a genuine Ryan PT-22. I must've thought what I did, because it was so pretty. |

maybe he was going for a hole in one? Maybe he thought he was 'Happy Ford' instead of 'Harrison Ford'? |

Looking at the area he had the worst scenario of losing an engine on take off. Not much choice and damn lucky having a golf course there. I went down with the fire chief in my helicopter into the golf course right next to the Ormond Beach Municipal Airport while the freaking TV cameras were rolling. He didn't realize we had a stuck valve....I did! |

From my post over on the "dark side" Just goes to prove that golf courses are your best choice for a crash or emergency landing if at all possible. Not only will probabilities promise a doctor or two on the course but a lawyer or two to help with the statements to the press and FAA. And should you need them there should be a few members of the clergy playing through as well. |

Rat Farts!!! I'm trying to remember the lawyer's name from LA "lower Alabama". He crashed and burned his gyroplane on a golf course. He was going to a function there and decided to fly. The accident burned the tux he was wearing slightly when the gyro caught fire. It had an instrument pod approved by the Postmaster General since it was a street mail box. He got pissed at Ernie because Ernie wouldn't help him put a horrendous cabin on his gyro so he went to A&P school. He died of cancer and chemo. Great guy!!! What was his name??? I think golf course sod is really too soft for aircraft of any weight. It would let the wheels dig in. Looking at the marks on the golf course that may have happened to Ford too. |

Somewhere there is a picture of him dressed perfect in a tuxedo and walking toward the wedding party ..... and his crashed and burning gyro is in the background That guy had 9 lives and a great attitude ,all his crashes he turned into a laugh . |

Thank you! I'm the world's worst at remembering names. I have what my grandfather had. He would always call me by one of my uncles names. He was bad at remembering too. |

. Best place to crash is on the golf course ... all the doctors and lawyers are there (from the article) ..... Spine surgeon Sanjay Khurana was playing golf Thursday when a single-engine, World War II-era plane crashed on the course. Khurana operated on instinct, he says, running to the scene to ensure the pilot was safe. https://gma.yahoo.com/harrison-ford-pla ... ities.html |
