My dad was one that could not stand to see an adult slap anyone let alone a child.
He got in a big fuss with mom about it.

He told her that if I didn't want to listen her the only way to get messages to my brain was to pound my ass with a belt or a board.

He told her something that made a lot of sense.
He said that all of a child's senses , sight, hearing, taste, smell, touch or in the skull.

He told her if she ever damaged any of those senses in a child of his he was going to kick her ass until THAT message not to slap a child in the face got to her brain.
I never slapped any of my children except on the ass. And I only had to do that once each for my two youngest.
I can't remember swatting my oldest.
I have good kids.

When I was born, I was so ugly......

They wanted to throw away the baby and keep the afterbirth.... :what :rofl

They usually use the placenta for home made sausage. I am sure it's long gone....
