How good are modern airliners

I was expecting sparks from that airliner I would say that he would have dumped the fuel out of the right wing,,, I was thinking he would land on the left side of the runway and pull up with a slight ark/turn to the right as he was stopping, but he seemed to turn left, but I think the plane did that itself? If I were the pilot, I would have asked the hostesses to put the heaviest passengers in the window seats on the left and fill the left side with heaviest passengers, then light passengers only on the right

I once saw an old Fokker friendship in NZ that had no nose wheel down for landing, the pilot got everyone to the back of the plane and told them to move/cram to the back when he says so..... the plane touched down.... he called out for them to haul ass to the back.... the plane stopped with a scraped tail and its nose up in the air Scraped the underside at the rear, but saved the motors and props

Can you imagine the hoo haa if someone suggested it today in a 747 or A380 Law suits all around

Yeah, do not make the wheel rim of magnesium... might cause some excitement... NOT.

A buddy of mine at Lockheed sent me pics of the jet blue parts, they ground the wheels all the way down to the bearings in the hub, like a giant jet powered belt sander.

Yeah... noticed at the end of the video the wheels were ground off...
Was wondering how the jet would do if the bearings and spindle were ground off...
Thankfully they did not have to find out.

When they bought PanAm... they got a bunch of them... however they were not in that great shape.

We did, just in case anyone wants to know what a 717 is.....it is a MD 90 since Boeing bought McDonnel Douglas, they got all the MD stuff and upgraded the cockpit and a few other small mods, but a 717 really isn't a Boeing...I miss the old Lockheeds, they were built like Gabors Behemoth, you could probably leave out every 3rd rivet and it would still be fine.
