A simple thank you would have been enough for the morning coffee without all that "how did you get in here" nonsense.

Happy Birthday John. I hardly think you are on the dole - you have paid in to Medicare and social Security your whole life, they certainly owe you money. Sadly though you would probably be a whole lot better off if you had taken that money and put it into a conservative investment

Thank you my friends!!!

PS:
As to paying in my whole life. I didn't! I never had a job started working for an accountant at age 13 sub-contract as my own business for the deductions.
I never got a pay check for most of my life as I owned the companies. I retired in 1990 and had to get a pay check for the last 4 years just to pay the minimum Medicare for 10 years.

So I am on the dole. I wish I would have paid in all those years before but it did not exist at first and that is what tax accountants do use the law against them to pay the least amount of tax.

I own my own company as well - my taxes - specifically the FICA component - sure as hell pay both Medicare and SS. Now if you did not pay any taxes and got away with it, not only are you my hero, but yes then you are on the dole.

You are correct. Self-employment taxes do pay in both SS and Medicare taxes.
Only I made most of my money before 1991 and bought stocks and land. When you sell stocks and land they are taxes as capital gains and not EARNED income so self employment taxes are not charged on the major portion of my income.

I traveled and sailed the world since then for over 15 years and most of the work I do now is for FREE.
Unless it a company and then only if they are in the back so I will receive more in Medicare than I paid in because most of my EARNED taxable income was earned before Medicare even existed and since then I've been a bum.

PS:
I guest why I feel bad is I CHOOSE TO BE A BUM!!! Why should you or my kids pay for that???
