That is great, good on  You have prolly heard our dreary  anthem.... this guy is a radio dude/comedian and he adapted our anthem to the style of Jimmy Barnes.... take a look.... . That was cool ... gave me goosebumps too . Thanks Gabor But there was something as good , or even better on October 22 .... The Philadelphia Flyers were playing the Pittsburgh Penguins ... American teams in an American city .... and instead of playing The Star Spangled Banner , they Sang 'O Canada' to honor the Canadian soldier who had been shot in front of our War memorial that morning http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2014/10/22 ... 32018.html |

. Any Americans who do not know the words to "O Canada" .... ???? Don't feel bad .... most of us do not either !!!! At one time we all did , we sang it every morning in school , and we all sang it together Then came the bleeding hearts who said it should be changed because ... "God keep our land glorious and free" .... mentions God "our home and native land" discriminated against (immigrants) who were not native-born "In all thy sons command" ... discriminated against women (feminists) And of course bilingualism requires it be sung in French half the time Or sing the first half in English , and sing the last half in French All in the name of equality !!!! What a schmozzle .... and that is why most Canadians just mouth the words and do not actually sing it And if you watch the ones actually singing ... you can tell that in the back of their mind they are unsure which version is actually being used at the time so they "hold back" a bit In order to keep everybody happy our Anthem would have to be ... . MadMuz ... we love Australia , I think everybody does , but I think you have a conspiracy to take over the world , and we dont even suspect anything because you do it so smoothly ... you start by getting us singing your songs HAAA !!! ... (true story) ... when I was a kid growing up on a Canadian farm there was not much music around , hardly any TV yet .... but EVERYBODY knew the song "Waltzing Matilda" and we sang it over and over again at community gatherings I often play this 4 song video by The Seekers ... they sang it at the Olympics or something |
