I love this stuff trivia: Until Copernicus , everybody on earth thought we were the center of the universe ... even after Copernicus many theologians still felt that our local planetary system must be at the center , because the Jewish Scriptures tend to indicate that as well. Some years ago I entered a discussion with expert secular astronomers and posed the question whether it IS possible that our earth and Sun ARE at the center of the universe. The reply was .... absolutely not ... it is just an old religious myth. That is fine with me I replied .... then I asked .... WHERE IS the center of the universe ??? ... no immediate answer was forthcoming .... so I posed the question again Finally it was explained that because the universe is expanding (space itself is expanding) ... then ANY POINT in the universe IS the center of the universe So using that analogy I suggested that from our vantage point EARTH IS at the center of the universe . They had to agree , but boy were they pi$$ed It really doesn't matter to me one way or the other , but I feel there is plenty we have yet to learn about the universe and I find your video very interesting John , thanks. .. |

I thought you science heads would enjoy seeing this!! You know... People often have told me life is a drag! I've never experienced life being a drag until seeing this. Speaking scientifically, they were correct and I though they were talking about mental states and positive or negative attitudes, stupid me! |
