Just a couple of thoughts here...

With those trees on the Missionary road side... and the power line on the St Joe road side... climb-out and approach would be 'challenging'... :)

And I suspect the guy with the house just across St Joe road... might not like aviation next to his house... :)

Tim...did u ever consider the property next door to me that I mentioned before you and Cindi
came to Florida. When u were at Zephryhills you were only 10 - 15 mins away from it.

here's a link just in case you want to see it again.

I will show it to Cindi, we will have to research it. like I said a lot depends on distance to the VA hospital. Cindi had a kidney transplant and also has a rare kidney disorder, so not a lot of the clinics can do the testing she has to have done.

Thanks.

No...just the 1.5 arces w/ proposed runway and I did that because I was going to
buy the property next door and build a private strip.

It's more suited to helicopters then gyro's unless your landing and having to be full on

and an engine out on TO could get hairy.

The neighbors have already been warned...they did not object...yet!!

It's just a proposed rendering...I found property north of here with a 1000' run w/ no
obstacles for hundreds of feet after.

now that is a rare find, it's not easy to find property laid out right for a runway. I have come across a lot of good property that can be used for helicopters. I have also learned to not call counties about zoning for a helistop or heliport, as no matter where it is they have zoning restrictions for flying areas. have learned that the land normally is zoned Ag. of some type. and most are with exception. meaning pay fees, do site surveys then county hearings where ya still have a good chance they will say no.

I think the old saying of easier to get forgiveness then permission pretty much applies here.

I have learned that Bing maps and google maps are my friend. and a lot of times if it is a really low price, there is a reason. Florida real estate photos lie. been to so many places to look at a house and it be rotted out or look like it needed a match.

case in point, this was a house we found in river acres, note realtor photo and what it really looked like.

Note small photo was from realtor site.

Yeah telling ya.....realtors always exaggerate.

I'll have to cut down a bunch of pine trees to clear a path for the runway

so I'll sell the lumber and use it for improvements and use some for myself.

The area I have in Nth Fla. is surrounded by private and community airports so I

am not going to worry about that thank goodness.

The property is unrestricted as it is somewhat away from the mainstream...just how I like it.

There is a Wal-Mart (I know!!!) and a home depot 20 mls. away so weekly trips can be done

to get goods needed. And I plan to fly everywhere else I can. my retirement plan.
