. Gary ....I like the glass artwork-ornament hanging in your window .... you are a real man when it comes to snow in the yard .... unlike those nameless wussies in the Georgia - Florida area .... my dog likes your dog and wants to have babies with it ... my dog is 13 years old and just got laid for the first time last summer .... now he wants it all the time !! We bred it to a (nearly) pure German Sheppard and already we are having custody battles over who gets the pups. My dog said he can solve that problem really easy .... all he needs is the phone number for Gary's dog He hopes your dog is not a boy because that would be kind of gay

Looks like you SC guys are gonna get socked worse than GA.
I did my grocery shopping and bought 20 gals of generator gas Tuesday... now that I am prepared and lounging around... it is a non-issue... other than the icy roads.

Close to the beach... miss the scenery... Lots of gyro folks... Good flying conditions year round... The main thing that worries me is the ' when, not if' a storm comes through and destroys all my goodies... including the gyro.

The last time we had a Hurricane was 14 - 15 years ago? Besides I will trade my Hurricane over any I mean ANY other nature's disaster. I know of the freaking thing for weeks in advance. I rode out cat 4 Floyd. It really is nothing. We have sand and the rain just flows into the aqua-fur. The wind blows for a day and it's done. I take Hurricane over Earthquake, Tornado, Tsunami, Hard freeze and all at any day!!!!

You have 2 choices: 1. You can live your life in fear, destroying everything in the process including health, relationships and true happiness or 2. Enjoy life to it's fullest in everything you do Just sayin'

Enjoy life to it's fullest in everything you do Just sayin' Yeah, I know what you are saying... I grew up on the Gulf Coast of Texas... specifically in Houston. We had our share of angry b*tches (Hurricanes)... Remember all to well the issues. OTOH: Here in GA, we get tornadoes in the Spring with T-storms... thankfully they usually come from the west to the east... and I am on the NE side of Atlanta... they are usually dissipated by the time they get to me. Just hate to invest too much, and have it all 'blown away' so to say. Now if one could get hull insurance on their gyro... including storm damage... that would make it a bit more palatable.

Finally got power restored last night around 9 PM. Could have had power restored Saturday night but power guys found where squirrels had gnawed the aluminum neutral service feed in two where only the steel leader was left. There was a shortage of wire and poles. Trucks were here from New Jersey, Kentucky, Tampa......
East Aiken looks as if a tornado went through there.
Shopping list priorities have changed! I will be shopping for an 8KW generator and a decent wood or corn fed stove/heater.

Just a thought here Ray... See if you can find a used portable welder... Lincoln, Miller, Hobart, etc... Once in a while having a stick welder for trailer work or such is cool... and most of them have an 8 to 10 KW generator in them. IMO it is a good deal... and easier to resell if you ever choose to. I have a Lincoln... AC/DC welder... 8.5KW generator with burst of 11KW surge (will start my AC if no other load). Have used it 3 times in 14 years for house power... however I think the reason I never needed it is because I have it... ya know... that lady called Karma...
