Despite the naysayers like Chuck Beaty on the other forum, electric planes are only a matter of time. Battery technology is the main holdup at the moment limiting range, but hybrids are going to come first. When you really think about it electric motors are so much simpler than gas engines, and develop full torque from zero to max output. In cars, Tesla have clearly shown the practicality of pure electric cars, particularly for city driving, and as more electric charging stations pop up, electric cars will start to dominate.
I reckon our grandkids will know nothing of internal combustion engines nor will they even need to know how to drive or fly a plane.

I guess there is still hope for some of the millennial generation, but not for most,
Amazing what you can do when you turn off the TV and put the cell phone down.
