Kai I could understand that scenario. It is my belief that a psycho will kill no matter what.
It is never just the spur of the moment act.
They usually build themselves up to the point of no return.
A flight attendant will not spoil a basket case wanting to make a point.
It is the industry's fault that pilots have to hide their condition.
High blood pressure, kidney stone or mental illness and so on.
They have one thing in common. They will all cause you to lose your license.
So pilots don't treat their ailments. They hide them.
And this is the result!
This is true, but really a Catch-22 for companies and pilot. In this case it's becoming evident that he had a psychiatric history and was declared not fit to fly 6 years ago.
Clearly he should never be allowed to be in this type of position of responsibility, ever.
So lets say the company did not know because he withheld it; obviously he should have disclosed it and never been given the job.
Let's say he did disclose it, got treatment, and then some psychiatrist declared him fit - should he then get the job? Or should they refuse to give him a job and be sued or something for discrimination and even be forced to give him a job by some dumbs court.
