rotor head

see rotor head with 2 (two) bearings manufactured in aluminum 6061-t6

That looks good Alviro.... did you make it? I hope you will use an aircraft bolt thru the hub bar?

:ugeek: :laughing

Aircraft bolts have thread roll, not cut in. ... they are made to closer tolerance and you can get with a hole for a castle nut and pin. Aircraft bolts are cadmium plated (gold color) which helps to stop rust and you can see the wear or damage if gold wears/rubs off. The large vertical bolt through the bearing is generally high tensile , but it's very big and strong, about 11/16 "or 17 mm or something ... so I have always used high-strength industrial grade 8 .

This rotor head looks good, did you make it yourself?

You can get aircraft bolts here http://www.aircraftspruce.com/categorie ... bolts.html

I hope bing translator makes sense for you? :yoda2 :Wolvie

No doubt about you Muz.
Resident photo rotator, and multi-lingual as well.
No doubt when you speak all these languages, you use the correct accent :D
( Its a wonder they have not contacted you to play Bond)

James Bond, not bond*ge.

Slight correction to your translation Muz.
"vendo" means selling, not see. He is selling the rotor head.

Yes, FB, Some of the things I have tried typing 10 times and the translator comes up with all sorts of weird stuff... so I just get it as close as I can, considering I have no idea really :laughing

Parece muito bom :like

The trouble with higher than grade 8 is that it is very strong, but gets more brittle.... Because the main vertical bolt is so big in diameter, it has alot of strength so going higher than 8.8 is not of any benefit. As long as it is good quality.

I have heard of people using common hardware bolts for the vertical bolt on Bensen type machines.... I have never heard of a gyro crash caused by that vertical bolt failing....

So, did you manufacture that rotor head? It looks very good :wol2 :Wolvie
